For today, I wanted to share with you “Nani Nani“, a deep psychedelic Afro Soul Jazz Funk track with Dogon (Malian ethnic group) Folklore influences, recorded in 1979 by the mythical Malian composer & musician Bourama “Sory” Bamba on the legendary French record label “Sonafric“.

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Mali Denou”, an mesmerizing 70s Afro Synth Soul Funk track with awesome organ parts, taken from an album recorded in 1977 by the mythical Malian band “Les Ambassadeurs Du Motel De Bamako” that included the finest Malian musicians such as Salif KeitaAmadou BagayokoOusmane KouyatéMoussa Doumbia & Idrissa Soumaoro and out on the legendary french label Sonafric.

This band was one of the two main malian orchestras with “L’Orchestre Rail Band Du Buffet Hotel De La Gare De Bamako” in which Salif Keita (who wrote the song presented here) used to sing before joining “Les Ambassadeurs” – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “O Se Nye“, a magnificent deep West African Soul track with gorgeous flute & killer breaks parts, taken from the only album of the Togolese Diva Bella Bellow, tragically died in a car accident near from Lome (Togo) the 10 of December 1973.

This album was released posthumously in 1977, first on the mythical record label Akueson (the first Parisian record label of that time run by an African guy, the Togolese producer & musician Gerard Akueson) & then more widely on the other legendary record label “Sonafric“, is an highly recommended one, full of great songs, including some arranged by the mythical Cameroonian musician Manu Dibango – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Yen Djigue Gni“, an incredible psychedelic Mbalax Jazz Fusion Funk Folk track taken from “Senegal Authentic 1977“, the only album recorded in 1977 by the Senegalese Orchestra “L’Orchestre Gorom” that included great names of that country’s musical history such as Yande Codou (composer & singer), Pape Mboup (arranger & singer) & Khar Mbaye (singer).

That record, out on the famous record label “Sonafric“, has 6 tracks, all winners – Enjoy !

Itadi K. Bonney – Peace And Freedom

Itadi K. Bonney was a singer and guitarist, born in Anonoe village (Togo) in 1948.

He recorded several albums, including on his own record label “Bonney I. Productions”, and toured in the United States, West Africa and Europe.

In the early 1990s, he flee Togo for the United States because a song he recorded, “Mayi Africa”, was against the political situation in Togo. He died on the 10th of November 2013 (Washington DC).

For today, I wanted to share with you “Peace And Freedom“, a pure gem of Afro Soul Psychedelia, taken from his first album, recorded live in Ghana in 1977 and out on the French record label Sonafric – Enjoy !
