Bella Bellow – O Se Nye (Togo, 1977, Sonafric)

For today, I wanted to share with you “O Se Nye“, a magnificent deep West African Soul track with gorgeous flute & killer breaks parts, taken from the only album of the Togolese Diva Bella Bellow, tragically died in a car accident near from Lome (Togo) the 10 of December 1973.

This album was released posthumously in 1977, first on the mythical record label Akueson (the first Parisian record label of that time run by an African guy, the Togolese producer & musician Gerard Akueson) & then more widely on the other legendary record label “Sonafric“, is an highly recommended one, full of great songs, including some arranged by the mythical Cameroonian musician Manu Dibango – Enjoy !

Manu Dibango et son African Soul Quintet – Soulogie (Cameroun, 1961, Ngoma)

In tribute to the Cameroonian musician legend Emmanuel “Manu” N’Djoké Dibango, who passed away today, I’ve decided to share with you for the first time online the outstanding Jazz track “Soulogie, taken from his impossible to find first single ever (I think), out in 1961 – Enjoy !

I found this record a few years ago, at a former record store owner’s house in the city of Garoua (capital of the North Region of Cameroon), after a 18 hours train & bus travel from the city of Yaoundé !
