For today, I wanted to share with you “Caramba“, a storming Tropical Cadence Latin track, recorded in the 70s by the Haitian band “Les Masterful d’Haiti” and only available on a compilation released on the legendary Guadeloupean record label “Disques Debs” (French West Indies).

Leaded by the composer & musician Pierre François Belony, the band included many great artists such as :

For today, I wanted to share with you “Beliaw“, a deep sublime Cosmic Island Jazz Soul Modal track with Tropical Cadence flavors & crazy synth parts, taken from the only LP  released by the band “The Melting Pot” from Barbados, self-recorded in Martinique (French West Indies) in 1987 at the legendary “Hibiscus” recording studio.

Really hard to find obscure LP with a cute cover art, that I’m pleased to share with you – Hope you’ll like it, enjoy !

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Misik A Gwo Ka“, a splendid deep Gwo Ka Funk Synth Fusion Folk instrumental track with catchy DX7 Synth parts, recorded in 1983 by the legendary guadeloupean composer & musician Erick Cosaque backed by his 80s band “X7 Dimension”.

One of my fave album from the French West Indies, perfect blend of a lot of musical influences, taken from a super hard to find album nowadays, as most of Erick Cosaque’s ones. Hope you’ll like it !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Try Making Love“, a deep Island Soul Funk track from the west indies with Calypso influences, taken from a compilation of previously recorded albums & singles by the Trinidadian band “Wild Fire“.

Formed by Oliver “Stompy” Chapman back in 1962 the group was originally named “The Sparks“, and was composed by :

– Oliver Chapman ;

– Anstey Hamilton ;

– Clifford Wilson ;

– Cyllan Charles ;

– Lennox James ;

– Peter Britto ;

– Terry Collymore.

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Karma“, an outstanding blend of Cadence Soul Funk Latin Synth Jazz & Fusion influences, taken from the 3rd album recorded in 1975 by the mythical musician, painter, sculptor and ceramist Henri Guedon from Martinique, considered by most as the grandfather of modern music from French West Indies.

This album includes :

– Henri Guedon : Leader, Lead Vocals, Agogô, Cowbell, Kalimba, Spoons, Helicon, Skratjie, Percussion, Handclaps, Guimbarde, Bombo, Balafon ;

– Fabien Bannet : Backing Vocals, Guiro, Maracas, Claves ;

– Claude Vamur : Percussion (Tambou Ka, Latigo), Drums, Timbales, Bongos ;
