For today, I wanted to share with you “Atis-A-Tis “, an astonishing 70s Psychedelic Afro Fuzz Soul Folk Funk track from Gambia, taken from the first Lp recorded by the mythical Gambian band “Ifang Bondi” (“Be Yourself” in Mandinka, variant of the Mandingo language spoken in Gambia, Senegal & Guinea-Bissao), formed in 1973 after the disband in 1970 of the 60s group “The Super Eagles” (more infos & sound here ).

The band included the following musicians :

Pa Musa Njie : Bass, Backing Vocals ;

Samson Gassama : Congas, Drum (Sabar) ;

Karamo Sabaly : Drum (Sabar), Congas, Percussion, Drums ;

Bai Janha “Sweet Fingers” : Guitar, Backing Vocals (Background Vocals) ;

Badou Jobe : Guitar, Percussion ;

Kunon Jarjutay : Keyboards, Wind (Cowhorn), Percussion, Backing Vocals ;

Ali Harb : Saxophone, Flute, Vocals, Drum (Sekereba) ;

Recorded in Ibadan (Nigeria) and out on the mythical West African record label “Sacodis” based in Ivory Coast, this magical would blow your mind far away – Enjoy !

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Mali Denou”, an mesmerizing 70s Afro Synth Soul Funk track with awesome organ parts, taken from an album recorded in 1977 by the mythical Malian band “Les Ambassadeurs Du Motel De Bamako” that included the finest Malian musicians such as Salif Keita, Amadou Bagayoko, Ousmane Kouyaté, Moussa Doumbia & Idrissa Soumaoro and out on the legendary french label Sonafric.

This band was one of the two main malian orchestras with “L’Orchestre Rail Band Du Buffet Hotel De La Gare De Bamako” in which Salif Keita (who wrote the song presented here) used to sing before joining “Les Ambassadeurs” – Enjoy !
