Orchestre Gorom – Yen Djigue Gni (Senegal, 1977, Sonafric)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Yen Djigue Gni“, an incredible psychedelic Mbalax Jazz Fusion Funk Folk track taken from “Senegal Authentic 1977“, the only album recorded in 1977 by the Senegalese Orchestra “L’Orchestre Gorom” that included great names of that country’s musical history such as Yande Codou (composer & singer), Pape Mboup (arranger & singer) & Khar Mbaye (singer).

That record, out on the famous record label “Sonafric“, has 6 tracks, all winners – Enjoy !

Orchestre du Bawobab – Saf Mana Dem (Senegal, 1975, Disques Buur Records)

Today, I wanted to present you one of my favourite track from L’Orchestre du Bawobab (or L’Orchestre Baobab), a Senegalese Afro Cuban influenced musical combo that plays since the early 70s.

The musicians recorded dozen of albums and singles since the 70s, and are still active today and touring all over the world.

Saf Mana Dem” is a splendid example of the Afro Latin musical blend this band manage to create – Enjoy !
