For today, I’d like to share with you “Ntchizenguè”, a mellow balearic 80s Cosmic Synth Soul track from Gabon taken from an obscure LP recorded in 1981 in Libreville (country’s capital) an produced by the famous Gabonese composer & musician Jean-Yves Messan in order to promote the sole recordings of 5 young talents (Jean-Louis Evoung, Douma Dominique, Jean-Claude Boutoto, Gnanga Moukoula Dominique & Pépé-Ngalet).

Out on the label “Zika Production” (on which were released some great albums by the Congolese superstar Abeti Masikini), the song presented here is my favorite from this album – sad the artist didn’t released more material after that (any more informations on this release + artists would be warmly welcomed !).

Following this former article, I wanted to share with you for today “Pot Pourrit De Guajira“, a gorgeous 70s Afro Cuban Latin Soul Fusion track from Senegal, taken from one of the several albums recorded by the mythical Senegalese Band “Orchestra Baobab” (spelt here “Orchestre Baobab Gouygui De Dakar”), formed in the early 1970 and famous for merging Cuban Music with traditional West African Wolof Griot culture and the Mandinga musical traditions of the Casamance in an Afro Cuban, Afro Latin & Afro Pachanga style.

Still touring today, the band features the following musicians :

Barthelemy Attisso : Guitar, Arrangements ;

Medoune Diallo : Lead Vocals, Maracas, Arrangements ;

Charles Antoine N’Diaye : Bass Guitar ;

Peter Udo : Clarinet, Alto Saxophone ;

Mountaga Koite : Congas (Tumbas), Drums ;

Papa Ba : Guitar ;

Issa Cissoko : Leader, Tenor Saxophone ;

Balla Sidibe : Timbales, Vocals ;

N’Diouga Dieng, Rudolphe « Rudy » Gomis : Vocals, Percussion ;

The album presented today is one of my favorite from the band, nice exampled of their ability to merge all styles – Hope you’ll like it, enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Come On Now Hou… Hou“, a killer Afro Jazz Funk Soul Fusion track with ultra cool Fender Rhodes & Horns parts, taken from a very obscure album recorded in the 1970s in Paris by the Cameroonian (presumed) musician Bada Damas and backed by his “Damas Swing” band, who composed together a fistful albums & singles.

Any additional infos about this artist/album would be greatly appreciated, so don’t hesitate !
