For today, I wanted to share with you “Kété Kété Bô Ô“, a catchy Afro Boogie Disco Funk Synth track by the legendary Ivorian composer & musician Ahui N’Goran Marcel (better known in his musical career as “Pierre Antoine“) and backed by the greatest musicians of that era such as Hilaire Penda & Jules Kamga (Cameroon) and Denis Hekimian (France).

Recorded in Paris (France) in the 80s at the famous “Studio Iguane“, this song was destinated to be a tribute to “Les Eléphants” (the Elephants), the Ivorian national soccer team – Enjoy !

Blo – Make Your Body Dance (Armand de Préseau NYE 2023 Edit) (Nigeria, 1979, Afrodisia)

For today, and to festively close 2022, I wanted to share with you an edit I made of “Make Your Body Dance“, an instant feel-good & powerful dancefloor friendly Afro Disco Boogie track, taken from the fifth album of the band BLO, in reference to the initials of its founders :

Berkley “Ike” Jones (guitar)

Olaoluwa “Laolu Akins” Akintobi (drums) ;

Mike “Gbenga” Odumosu (bass) ;

Odumosu left the band later and was replaced by Lemmy “Otu” Udofa (also known as “Lemmy Jackson” in his 80s solo carrer !)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Zedaga“, an obscure killer Electronic Afro Funk Boogie track with killer Synth & drum machines breaks, taken from an ultra rare LP localy recorded by the Beninese composer & musician Akoha Ambroise apparently in the early 90s, and that never had a proper commercial release, out only at the time as a test press in the early 90s – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Shabi-bi-di-do“, a bouncy summer Afro Highlife Boogie Funk track with Afrobeat flavors, taken from one of the three albums recorded by the Ghanaian Band “The Dutch Benglos” led by Gloria Aba Addison and that included legendary Ghanaian musicians from Dutch, Germany & Ghana such as the saxophone player George Amissah, the trumpetist Louis Hammond & the drummer Joseph Ghansah – Enjoy !

Following to this former post, I wanted to share with you for today “Ngabule“, a catchy tropical dance floor friendly Afro Boogie Electro Funk with killer synth & horn parts, recorded in 1985 by the Congolese musician & composer Marie-Joséphine Kama “Patience Dabany” (Gabonese president Omar Bongo‘s former wife), leader of mythical Gabonese bands such as “Akebe II“, “Banowita” or “Kounabeli” and founder of the recording studios “Elumba 2” (LibrevilleGabon) and Mbila (Los AngelesUnited States).

This album was recorded between Gabon & the United States with the help of the legendary musician and arranger Fred WesleyJames Brown‘s former musical director – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Mamy Wata“, a catchy Afro Boogie Jazz Funk Synth track with Afrobeat flavors and killer horns, taken from the only album privately recorded and distributed in the 90s by the mysterious musician & composer Peter Bishop and his Afro Wave Orchestra.

This LP is an extremely hard to find masterpiece from start to finish that looks like a lost 90s recording from the Nigerian Legend Fela Kuti so.. Enjoy !
