Today, I wanted to share with you “Aka Me Na Nyame“, an obscure Afro Boogie Funk track recorded in 1982 by the Ghanaian musician Pope Flyne on the very well known Abidjan (Ivory Coast) based label Societe Ivoirienne du Disque (SID) – Enjoy !
De Frank Kakrah was a musician from Ghana who played with several bands in the 70s, such as K. Frimpong Cubano Fiestas, The Barbecues, Okukuseku’s No.2 Guitar Band, Samdan’s 8 and his own band, De Frank Professionals.
He recorded several albums, including the one presented here “Jamaican Sounds“, recorded in Ivory Coast when he was employed as a band musician at the “Enuh Hotel”.
De Frank Junior and the Professional Diggit Ways were composed of :
De Frank Junior : Drums, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Vocals, Vocal Barking, Congas, Marracas.
Riky Ammed : Organ Synthesizer.
Joe Amanor : Lead Guitar.
Sammy Cropper Lee : Bass.
I decided to make you (re)discover “Dankasa”, a nervous Afrobeat track sung in English with catchy organ and guitar gimmicks – Enjoy !
