For today, I wanted to share with you “Oa“, an instant catchy Afro Boogie Funk Soul Synth track with Cosmic Makossa grooves, taken from the first single self-produced & recorded in Paris in the 80s by the Cameroonian artist Nicodème “Tjap’s” Trap Oum, native from Nkongsamba in the West region of the country, and who recorded several local hits such as “Tina miñem minan … inyu bonge” & “Tamboura” before slowing down his career due to a lung disease.

This track includes the following musicians :

– Chorus : Medy Dayas, Michele, Ngo Bavoï Charlotte (Ngo Nkol), Tonye Jackson ;

– Guitar : Yves N’Djock ;

For today, I wanted to share with you “Koma“, an instant catchy balearic dancefloor Afro Boogie Funk track, taken from the 4th LP by the Togolese Diva Afiwavi Mawaulana Missohou (better known as “Afia Mala“) recorded in 1984 in Paris (her 1st album recorded out of Togo) at the mythical recording studio “Studio Harry Son“.

This LP features great musicians from France, Africa & the West Indies :

Arrangements, Keyboards, Synth, mix : Emmanuel “Manu” Lima ;

Bass : Michel Alibo (track : A2, B1), Miguel Yamba (track : B2), Emmanuel “Manu” Lima (track : A1) ;

Chorus : Jean-Paul Pognon, Marie-Céline Chroné, Sylvie Dray ;

Guitar : Lokassa Ya Mbongo (track : B2), Néné Fafa (track : B2), Yves N’Djock (tracks : A1, B1) ;

Lead Vocals : Solo Sita (tracks : B2) ;

1980 : 2nd price of the Togolese Gold Star song competition ;

1981 : 1st price of the International Song Forum in Cotonou (Benin) ;

1984 : discovery listener’s prize of Radio France International contest ;
