For today, I wanted to share with you “Komba“, an instant catchy Afro Electronic Digital Soukous Funk track sung in Lingala (Congolese vernacular langage) with dope drum machines using, taken from the only album privately recorded in 1987 in Paris (France) by the mysterious composer & musician Charlston Marquis and that features legendary musical figures from Cameroon & Democratic Republic Of Congo (former Zaïre) such :

Vocals, Synthesizer, Percussion, Drum Programming, Arrangements : Charlston Marquis ;

Drum Programming : Charlston Marquis, Olivier Marot ;

Guitar : Boleta N’Zeza, Nya Soleil ;

Guitar, Bass Guitar : Pablo Lubadika Porthos ;

Always a dance floor burner when I play it on my DJ sets, hope you’ll like it – Enjoy !

To notice : this track has the same bass line as the track “Ennemi” by the Cameroonian composer Mister Bibi (listen here) recorded and released also in the 80s.. Just a musical coincidence ? Who’s inspired who ? We’ll never know !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Arangomo“, an frantic Afro Soukous Soul Funky track that begins as a straight Rumba to quickly go wild, recorded by the obscure Congolese band “Orchestre Inoccupa Du Zaire” (any further informations welcomed !), that seemed to have recorded only recorded 2 singles including that one, released in 1976 on the French record label “Authentic’Music“.

Personal favorite, always a dance floor burner when I play it in my DJ Sets – Enjoy !
