علاء – دخترها پسرها (Ala – Doxtarha Pesarha) (Iran, 1970s, Khane Safha)

For today, I wanted to share with you “دخترها پسرها” (“Doxtarha Pesarha ” or “Girls, Boys” in Farsi – Persian langage), a mad Psychedelic Persian Garage Surf Rock Funk track with raw grunts, crazy organ & furious guitar parts, taken from a very obscure & ultra rare single from the Iranian musician & composer Ala (علا) recorded in the late 60s / early 70s on the Iranian record label “خانه صفحه” (“Khane Safha” or “Record House” in Farsi) (feel free to contact me if you have any further infos on that one !) – Enjoy !

Omar Khorshid – Johnny Guitar (Egypt, 1974, Parlophone / Voix De L’Orient)

Following to that former post, I wanted to share with you today my favorite version of the all-time classic standard “Johnny Guitar“, a song originally written in 1954 by the American singer Peggy Lee, covered countless times & reinterpreted here in an outstanding Middle Eastern Psychedelic Electric Surf way by Egyptian guitar hero Omar Khorshid – Enjoy !

Les Abranis – A Yema (Kabylie/Algeria, 1977, Disques Bordj El Phen)

Les Abranis was one of the very first Rock band from Algerian Kabylie and, more, one of the very first from Algeria.

The group was founded in 1967 by Sid Mohand Tahar, aka Karim “Abranis” Abdenour, singer and bassist, and was originally composed with :
– Karim “Abranis” Abdenour : Singer, Bass
– Samir Chabane – Singer
– Madi Mahdi : Guitar
– Shamy El Baz : Organ
In 1975,  Samir & Madi left the band to found “Syphax“, another legendary Algerian Kabyle band.
For today, I wanted to share with you “A Yema“, one of my favorite track from the band, a deep & groovy Rock Folk ballad with uplifiting fuzzy guitar riffs & catchy drums taken from the first album of the band, recorded in 1977 – Enjoy !
