Sayed Darwish (سيد درويش)- Arabesque (Egypt, 1975, Columbia)

Following to this former post, I wanted to share with you for today “Arabesque”, a dope Oriental Belly Dance Jazz instrumental Piano track with a funky swing, originally written by Sayed Darwish ( سيد درويش) a legendary Egyptian composer and singer, considered as the father of Egyptian popular music and that put music to the Egyptian national anthem “Bilady, Bilady, Bilady“, adapted from a famous speech by Mustafa Kamil (مصطفى كامل).

This track is taken from an ultra hard to find LP, never properly commercialized, only promotionally released in the 70s for tourist purposes, offered to the visitors of the great pyramid of Giza & Cairo’s Egyptian museum to make them discover Egyptian music – Enjoy !
