Okoi Seka Athanase – Mambo Marie Madeleine Houi Bin (Ivory Coast, 1977, Disco 2000)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Mambo Marie Madeleine Houi Bin“, a mind-blowing deep melancholic Afro Soul Jazz track with gorgeous horns & Latin flavors, taken from one of the first albums recorded by the Ivorian composer Okoi Seka Athanase in 1977.

This album includes the following musicians (any further informations are welcomed) :

Okoi Seka Athanase : Lead Vocals ;

Léo : Bass Guitar ;

Christophe : Drums ;

N’Da Jo : Guitar ;

Bouadou Ernest : Solo Guitar ;

P. Lucien Dy : Percussion ;

Bader : Saxophone ;

Ahmed, Beugré Edouard : Trumpet ;

Assy Lucien, Lucien Achipo : Vocals ;

Really beautiful song, that reminds some of the best Afro Latin tracks by legendary Congolese bands & musicians (Tabu Ley Rochereau & L’Orchestre Afrisa International, Franco & his T.P. OK Jazz, Dr Nico, …). Enjoy !

N’Goran Pierre Antoine – Kete Kete O Bo (Ivory Coast, 1980s, Ahui Music)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Kété Kété Bô Ô“, a catchy Afro Boogie Disco Funk Synth track by the legendary Ivorian composer & musician Ahui N’Goran Marcel (better known in his musical career as “Pierre Antoine“) and backed by the greatest musicians of that era such as Hilaire Penda & Jules Kamga (Cameroon) and Denis Hekimian (France).

Recorded in Paris (France) in the 80s at the famous “Studio Iguane“, this song was destinated to be a tribute to “Les Eléphants” (the Elephants), the Ivorian national soccer team – Enjoy !
