Armen Quintet – Yerazi Bess (Armenia, 1971, Self-Released)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Yerazi Bess“, a bewitching Jazz Soul Funk track with Bossa Nova influences, taken from the only LP by the Armenian/Lebanese band Armen Quintet, recorded in 1971 at the mythical “Thunder” recording studios in Toronto (Canada), and that was composed with :

Garbis Libarian (Vocals, Band leading) ;

George Kallibjian (Drums, Congas) ;

Jack DerMagerdijian (Flute) ;

Kevork Maroukian (Guitar) ;

Hagop Artinian (Arrangements, Piano, Organ, Saxophone, Bass).

A really beautiful but sadly really hard to find LP nowadays, so hope you’ll like it – Enjoy !

For today, I wanted to share with you “Sari Siroun Yar“, a beautiful melancholic Folk Jazz Ballad with dreamy acoustic guitar & violins parts, taken the only recorded album recorded & self-released in 1978 in France by the Armenian band Hartar, founded by HARout Bezdjian & Vicken TARpinian.

This album was backed by an orchestra leaded by Nazareth Hakimian & Andy Emler, and composed by :

Celo : Jean Hucho & Dino Quarleri ;
Flute : Remy Cotton ;
Oboe : Gaston Maugras ;
Piano : Andy Emler ;
Drums : Nazareth Hakimian ;
Bass Guitar : Yves Mazieres ;
