I Notturni – I Notturni (Lebanon, 1970s, I Notturni Self-Released)

For today, I wanted to share with you “I Notturni“, an incredible powerful psychedelic Rock Funk Soul instrumental with gorgeous flute & organ parts, taken from the one-and-only EP released by the Lebanese band “I Notturni” in the 70s (I think, any informations are welcomed…), leaded by the composer & musician Khaled Choughari, and that used to play in several night clubs of Lebanon (it was the resident band of “Casino Du Liban” for some times), Iran & Egypt.

The band was composed with :

Khaled Choughari : Music, Band leading ;

Ermanno Riccordi : Lyrics ;

Conductor : Tony Akkawi ;

Super obscure & hard to find record, one of the hardest to find Lebanese treasures, hope you’ll like it !

Ivano Alberto Fossati & Oscar Prudente – Tema Del Lupo (Italia, 1973, Fonit Cetra)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Tema Del Lupo“, an outstanding uptempo psychedelic Freakbeat Funk Soul track with killer flute breaks that sounds like a theme of a lost Italian Western movie soundtrack a la Ennio Morricone, taken from the first album of the Italian composers, arrangers & musicians Ivano Alberto Fossati & Oscar Prudente, recorded in 1973.

This song has been covered many times and was even released later in 1975 on the mythical American label “Roulette” as “The Night Of The Wolf” by Ivano & Oscar under their alias “Al Foster Band” (slightly different version), but this one will remain by far my favorite, always dancefloor burner when I”m deejaying in night clubs – Enjoy !

This song is taken from the first single recorded by the band “The Smockers“, leaded by the composer & musician Roger Georges, and out on the mythical Madagascan record label “Discomad” in the late 70s – Enjoy !

Lady Isa – Tabou Ya Afrika (Democratic Republic Of The Congo, 1980s, Espera)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Tabou Ya Afrika“, an instant catchy balearic 80s Afro Electro Boogie Funk Synth track with insane drum machines backing, taken from the 2nd album of the Congolese Diva Isabelle “Lady Isa” Kozonga, recorded in the late 80s in Belgium with the help of the producer & musician Emmanuel “Manu” Lima.

This track is taken from a record that has another pressing, with different versions & arrangements of the songs. The one presented here is my favorite, with musical flavors that reminds me a bit of the African anthem “Let Me Love You” composer in 1979 by the Sierra Leonean musician “Bunny Mack” (Cecil Bunting MacCormack).

Devastating dance floor weapon, this record never leaves my DJ Bag when I’m invited to play records in parties & clubs – Enjoy !
