For today, I wanted to share with you a short edit I did on one of my favourite songs from the most funky reverend from Nigeria, Mr. Jerry Boifraind !

He relased a few LP’s back in the end of the 70’s / early 80’s before giving his entire life to his church – enjoy !

Ticorn – Papa Damballah (Haïti, 1979, Tortuga Records)

Ticorn (Creole for “Petite Cornelia” – Cornelia Schütt) was born 1953 to a German family, rooted in Haiti for several generations in the trading and shipping business. At the age of 12 she started playing the guitar and singing the songs that surrounded her. She spent her childhood in Cap Haitian, then was sent to Germany for further education. She has lived most of her life between the Caribbean and Europe and continues to travel to many countries.

For today, I wanted to share with you for today “Papa Damballah“, a splendid folk song sung in creole language – Enjoy !
