Edmony Krater et Zepiss – Tijan (Guadeloupe, 1988, Editions Kaluila)

Edmond “Edmony Krater” Cratère is a musician (trumpeter, drummer, singer and Gwo-Ka player) who was born on the 18 of October 1956 in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe, French West Indies).

He arrived in Paris (France) in 1983 and founded the band Zepiss, with whom he recorded two albums, “Natibel” in 1983 and “Tijan Pou Velo” in 1988, very hard to find nowadays and full of Spiritual Gwo-Ka and West Indies Jazz tracks.

Edmony is still active today, lives in the sweet South of France and is working on his next album that will be out very soon !

The track I wanted to make you rediscover today, “Tijan”, taken from his second album, is truly a masterpiece with splendid horns, fuzzy guitars and beautiful synth parts, wrote in the memory of the Guadeloupean Gwo-Ka drum master Marcel “Velo” Lollia.
