John Migan & l’Orchestre Sodo-Sodo – Mayewo (Benin, 1980, Sodogil Editions)

Fort today, I wanted to share with you “Mayewo“, a dope uplifting Cosmic Afro Soul Disco Funk track with killer synth solo parts, taken from the only vinyl recorded, pressed & distributed in 1980 between Lagos (Nigeria), Abidjan (Ivory Coast) & London (UK) by the Beninese singer & drummer John Migan (who collaborated with many legendary African musicians such as Fela Anukulapo Kuti, Theophile “El Rego” Do Rego, Francis Lougah), before he became an evangelist in the Mid 80s.

Still active today today & very prolific in both domains, he continues to release religious music.

William Onyeabor – Something You’ll Never Forget (80s Version) (Nigeria, 1982, Wilfilms Records)

For today, I wanted to share with you “Something You’ll Never Forget“, an outstanding catchy Lo-Fi Electronic Afro Funk Synth track from the legendary mysterious Nigerian musician & producer William Onyeabor recorded in 1982 on his own Wilfilms record label, that is rumored to be the soundtrack of a movie he also produced.

This LP is actually a re recorded version of “Crashes In Love“, an earlier album released in 1977 that contains the same tracks (original had one more), but played in a less electronic way than that one presented here, which is my favorite of both – Hope you’ll like it, enjoy !
