For today, I wanted to present you one of my favorite Egyptian LP, “Egypt – A Holiday Souvenir“, issued in the 1970’s on the EMI label and that was offered to tourists visiting the mystic country of Egypt.
All the tracks on this LP are winners, and it contains one astonishing Oriental Jazz Groove track, “Amber of the Nile“, by the Egyptian Jazz musician Salah Ragab (or Rageb), an Egyptian Jazz Player, backed with the Cairo Jazz Band.
This tune is actually a different version of his well known “Egypt Strut” track that some of you may you, a longer and more jazzy one that exists only on this compilation (and that is faaar better according to me) – Enjoy !
